Our Story
My name is Candida Fernandes Joubert and I founded MaudErn in 2021. The pandemic took its course throughout the world and during that time I was unemployed and lost my mother. I woke up one sunny morning and decide I was going to make two negatives into a positive. The name MaudErn came about over a cup of tea with my sister and our kids. Maud being the name of our mother, who herself was a business women and stood strong in a male dominated society.
Coming from Bombay,India where I studied Textiles and Clothing, with a post graduate in Marketing and Management of Textiles, I have been in the garment business since I was 21. I ran a local brand called Candy’s Creations with fun mismatched patterns in 100% cotton children’s wear.
Moving to New York in 1999, I continued with product manufacturing and quality control. My passion is to supply soft, comfortable and sustainable everyday clothing for the family. So join us in our journey in clothing with a snuggly ‘feel cozy’ advantage.
